Australian model Bambi Northwood-Blyth was discovered after she missed university orientation, and stumbled into a modeling agency by chance. For six months, she modeled steadily, mostly test-shoots and in showrooms, and was eventually sent abroad to walk international runways. She received her big break when she walked in a Balenciaga show, her first-ever runway show, a major coup for the petite model standing at 5’7”. She has also walked for Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel. Shortly thereafter, Bambi booked her first-ever advertising campaign, the relaunch of the Calvin Klein’s CK One fragrance, photographed by Steven Meisel. Widely admired for her carefree personality she is quite the skilled businesswoman. With her infectious and never-ending supply of energy on set, and of course, those artfully untamed eyebrows, Bambi has had the pleasure of working with Armani, Hogan, Topshop, H&M, Tommy Hilfiger, and Rihanna for River Island photographed by Mario Sorrenti. She has appeared on the covers of Vogue Japan, Elle Australia, Marie Claire Italy, V Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar Australia and Spain, Oyster, and French Revue des Modes. In addition to the aforementioned, select editorial features include Vogue Australia, CR Fashion Book, Russh, W, and i-D magazines amongst others. As a young woman living with Type 1 diabetes since she was 10-years-old, Bambi is an outspoken advocate for afflicted-youth, demonstrating how to manage diabetes symptoms while simultaneously striving for your dreams. Most recently, she was installed on the Global Council for Beyond Type 1, the largest type 1 Diabetes community that hosts events and raises awareness. In addition to an explosive career in fashion, Bambi has turned her sights towards acting and is preparing for her much-anticipated big-screen debut. She's already got her feet wet serving as a music presenter on the youth music show Channel V. And even though she began her modeling career missing orientation, Bambi is back at school working towards a degree in social entrepreneurship.
